Privacy Policy

Information we collect and use

• Account and profile. We use your email address, account identifier, and profile details such as your display name, bio, and time zone to manage your account and show deadlines in your local time.
• Commitments and proof. We store the commitments you create, schedules, outcomes, evidence you submit (including text, links, photos, screenshots, or videos), and review and appeal records so you and authorized participants can use those features.
• Contacts and invitations. If someone adds you as a trusted contact or invites you to participate, we receive the name or email address they enter. We use it to manage contacts, match invitations to the intended account, and record whether an invitation was accepted.
• Optional location check-ins. When you request a GPS check-in and grant browser permission, your browser uses your location to calculate distance from the target. If you submit the resulting proof, we store your reported coordinates, target coordinates and radius, check-in time, distance, and reported accuracy with your evidence. BoomClaps does not track your location in the background.

Sign in with Google

If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides basic account information, such as your Google account identifier, email address, name, and profile picture, to Supabase, our authentication provider. Supabase stores the linked identity in our authentication records. We use this information to create or identify your BoomClaps account and keep you signed in. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or contacts, or sell or use Google account data for advertising.

Who receives information

An invited participant can see the details needed to decide whether to accept the invitation. Authorized reviewers can see the commitment details, evidence, and appeal information they need to review. BoomClaps stores uploaded files in private storage and limits access through the app.

Supabase provides authentication, database, and file storage services. Our hosting provider processes requests and technical information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site. We may disclose information when required by law or to address fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

If you choose to share an invitation through WhatsApp, BoomClaps opens WhatsApp with the invitation link in a draft message. You choose the recipient and whether to send it. WhatsApp handles the message under its own privacy policy. BoomClaps does not send automated WhatsApp messages.

Cookies and browser storage

BoomClaps uses cookies to complete sign-in and maintain your session. Your browser may also store your theme choice, onboarding progress, and unfinished evidence drafts. You can clear these in your browser settings. Clearing them can sign you out or remove unsaved work on that device.

Retention, access, and deletion

We keep account and commitment records while your account is active so you can access your history. We may keep some records when needed to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups.

For evidence submitted after our retention policy takes effect, we delete submitted text, links, and uploaded proof once the check-in has a final verdict and any applicable appeal period has ended. We keep the outcome and review history. Removing a submitted link does not remove content from the external site.

You can update your profile in BoomClaps. To request access, correction, or deletion of your account and associated data, including information received through Google sign-in, email privacy@boomclaps.com from the address associated with your account or invitation. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you shared content outside BoomClaps, you may need to ask the recipient or service to remove its copy.
